Further recognition for Wellington Phoenix captain Annalie Longo.
The decorated midfielder has been voted by her peers into the Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) Ninja A-League team of the season, as one of seven substitutes.
It is the first time Longo, who announced her retirement from professional football after the Phoenix’s final round match, has received the honour and she is one of just two players in the 18-strong squad to have played for a side that didn’t make the finals, with Matildas midfielder Tameka Yallop being the other.
It comes after she led the competition in chances created and passes in the opposition half on top of scoring three goals and topping the Nix’s assists tally with five.
Annalie Longo’s standout season saw her dominate the club’s awards night at Fraser Park in Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai last week.
Longo was presented the prestigious Lloyd Morrison Spirit of the Phoenix award in addition to being named the women’s player of the year by the club, her teammates, members and media.

Earlier today she was named in the Football Ferns squad for their upcoming internationals against Venezuela in southern Spain.
Central Coast Mariners midfielder Isabel Gomez, who was a key member of the inaugural Phoenix women’s side, has been voted into the starting XI of the PFA team of the season.
