Details confirmed for Australia Cup tie

The Wellington Phoenix will play Perth Glory eight days after this month’s much-anticipated match against Wrexham AFC.

The two sides will square off at the Sam Kerr Football Centre in Perth on Sunday, July 27 in the Australia Cup round of 32, with kick-off at 7pm NZT (3pm AWST).

It will be the Phoenix’s first Australia Cup match in Western Australia in what is the club’s 11th year in the competition.

This is the sixth time the Nix have drawn A-League opposition in the round of 32, having won two of their previous five meetings including their most recent against Western United in 2021.

Wellington have advanced to the round of 16 in three of the past four seasons and memorably won through to the semi-finals in the 2021-22 Cup.

Both the Phoenix and Glory won their respective playoffs in Darwin in May to secure their places in the final rounds.

The Wellington Phoenix started pre-season training this week and will play host to Wrexham AFC at Sky Stadium on Saturday, July 19.
