The Wellington Phoenix can confirm the club will be taking the men’s final home match of the 2025-26 Isuzu UTE A-League to Christchurch.
The Phoenix will play host to Western Sydney Wanderers at Apollo Projects Stadium on Saturday, April 18, with kick-off at 5pm.
It was initially hoped the match would be played at One New Zealand Stadium, which is due to open in April, but this fixture looks to have come too soon.
If the new state-of-the-art venue opens earlier than scheduled the match will be moved across town.
The Nix returned to Ōtautahi in January this year after an eight-year absence and played out a scoreless draw with Central Coast Mariners in front of a vocal Canterbury crowd.
To celebrate the fixture announcement, tickets are discounted at 20% off for club members, Mainland Football and New Zealand Football, with the pre-sale live now.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 4pm next Tuesday (November 25).
Phoenix general manager David Dome can’t wait to return to Christchurch.
“We’ve always had great support in Ōtautahi from the public and from our friends at Mainland Football,” Dome said. “I expect it’ll be no different come April.
“It will be the men’s final home match of the regular season and a vital fixture as they push for the finals.
“We would love to play at One New Zealand Stadium if it opens early but we know Cantabrians create a great atmosphere at Apollo Projects Stadium that the players really enjoyed last season.
“I look forward to seeing the Cantabs turn out in force in April.”

There will be an active home supporters bay at Apollo Projects Stadium where fans will be standing, chanting and drumming, and won’t be sitting in their allocated seats.
The general public can buy tickets in this area of the Yellow Fever zone from next Tuesday (November 25) by entering the password FEVERSTANDING as long as they know what is expected in that bay.
