Two from two for the Wellington Phoenix academy this weekend.
The only two sides in action were the women’s reserves and the U-18 women, who both enjoyed big wins over Central Football at Fraser Park.
The women’s reserves were 6-0 victors in the first game of the doubleheader.
Alyssha Eglinton got the team off to a perfect start by firing home early during a scramble from a corner, before Lily Brazendale was sent clean through to make it 2-0.
Amber de Wit also scored from a corner, while Isla Cleall-Harding made it four nil before the break from a seemingly impossible angle.
The second half saw an own goal forced from a corner, and Phoebe Hawes wrapped up the game by converting a penalty she had won herself.
In the Youth National League, Ava Hipkins opened the scoring from a corner, followed by a second-half hattrick for Bridie Christie as the U-18s romped to a 4-0 win.
This weekend, the men’s reserves travel to Western Springs, with the women’s reserves and U-18s playing Eastern Suburbs.
