Robertson signed on with the Nix for the 2022-23 Liberty A-League season, having spent the past two years with the academy’s emerging women’s programme.

The diminutive winger, who stands just 147cm tall, was the first Wellingtonian to join the Phoenix women’s team.

> 2022-23 season

Michaela Robertson was a regular for the Phoenix in her maiden professional season, featuring in 16 of the team’s 18 A-League matches.

Robertson missed the opening round match against Melbourne City after suffering a concussion at the start of pre-season and made her club debut in the second round defeat to Western United.

She scored against Western Sydney Wanderers in round eight to help Wellington secure their first point of the season and was in the starting XI for the team’s historic 1-0 win over eventual A-League champions Sydney FC in March.

Statistically Robertson finished 10th in the A-League for touches in the opposition penalty box per 90 mins and 13th in the league for 1vs1 dribbles per 90.

She was one of the first players to re-sign with the club following Paul Temple’s appointment as head coach.
