The Australian Professional Leagues (APL) has confirmed the start dates for the 2024-25 A-Leagues
The Isuzu UTE A-League men will kick-off on the weekend of October 18-20, with the Liberty A-League women to get underway a fortnight later over the first weekend of November.
The introduction of Auckland FC sees the men’s competition expand to 13 teams with a 29-round regular season.
The 20th anniversary of the Isuzu UTE A-League will see each club play 24 home and away fixtures, plus two additional matches (Unite Round and one other), and three byes.
As per the 2023/24 season, the top six sides will qualify for the finals which will start on the weekend of May 9-11, with the grand final to be played on the weekend of May 30-June 1.
The women’s competition has also been extended to a 23-game regular season as the league continues to expand to meet international standards.
The Liberty A-League Women will see each team play 22 home and away fixtures, with an additional game being played during Unite Round.
As per the 2023/24 season, the top six sides will qualify for the finals, which will kick off at the end of April, with the grand final scheduled for the weekend of May 16-18.
The full fixtures for both competitions will be announced in the coming weeks, while the details of the second Unite Round will be unveiled later this week.
