The Wellington Phoenix lifted a national title at the weekend.

The Phoenix academy’s under-17 boys’ team won the boys’ youth national league finals tournament held at the New Zealand Campus of Innovation and Sport (NZCIS) in Upper Hutt.

The squad coached by Luke Tongue beat Fencibles United 3-1 in the final on Sunday afternoon.

They had earlier beaten Selwyn United 6-0 and Auckland United 4-1.

The under-17 boys received great support throughout the three-day tournament from the academy, wider club and whānau.
