The Phoenix welcome Canterbury United to Westpac Stadium on Sunday 28 September for the final hit out of the club’s pre-season.
It will be two weeks to the start of the season and the last chance for the squad to impress Ernie Merrick for a starting spot for the season opener against Perth Glory on Sunday 12 October.
New signings Michael McGlinchey, Roly Bonavecia, Alex Rodriguez and Nathan Burns, who all were impressive on the recent Australian road trip, have added to competition for spots to what is shaping up to be the strongest Phoenix team ever.
Canterbury United, featuring Aaron Clapham and fresh from their success with Cashmere Technical in the Chatham Cup, promise to provide strong opposition to a Phoenix team fired up and raring to go.
Phoenix General Manager David Dome said this is the perfect hit-out against quality opposition before what is going to be a great season.
“This will be the last chance for our fans to see the team before the start of the season.
“There is a real buzz around the club with the quality of the new additions that we have made and everyone is confident that this is the strongest Phoenix team ever” Dome said.
The match will be held the same day as the Home and Garden show at Westpac Stadium.
Fans will be able to access both events by purchasing a ticket to the Home and Garden Show.

Phoenix Season Ticket Holders can get entry to the Home and Garden Show for half price. Membership cards will NOT work for entry.
All Phoenix Season Ticket Holders should receive a voucher by email this week, entitling them for two for one entry to the match and the Home and Garden show.
