We are pleased to announce a new addition to the backroom staff in Aidan Wong. Aidan becomes the new Football Operations and Facilities Co-ordinator at Wellington Phoenix.
Aidan arrives with plenty of experience having left the position of Acting Competitions Manager at Northern Football Federation in Auckland and he believes he is joining an exciting stage in Wellington Phoenix history.
“I’m over the moon to be at Wellington Phoenix, especially in the last few months since the Head Coach, Mark Rudan has come in.
“Mark has re-vitalised the club and there is a real buzz around the club at the moment, so I can’t wait to get started.”
Aidan will be joining in mid-November as he looks to establish himself at the club alongside Football Operations Manager, Shaun Gill.
“We were looking for someone with experience in the football fraternity in New Zealand and Aidan possesses that through the work he has been doing with Northern Football Federation.
“We’re very pleased to have found someone with that experience and quality on board and we’re really looking forward to him starting.”
Aidan’s is a graduate from Auckland University of Technology with a bachelor of sport and recreation majoring in sport management before Wong started with NFF last year as a competition’s assistant.
