Young Wellingtonians can meet their heroes at the ASB Sports Centre in Kilbirnie on Friday 28 March from 4-6pm.
Kids can mingle with players such as Ama Agbeze from the Haier Pulse, Jeetan Patel from the Wellington Firebirds, Paul Ifill from the Phoenix, and Lindsay Tait from the Wellington Saints. The sports pros will run development drills and coach mini games at this have-a-go session, offering tips and tricks for young players.
Craig Hutchings, Facility Manager for ASB Sports Centre, says his team works hard to ensure that young people are inspired to get involved with sports.
“Having famous players dropping in to meet the kids is such a highlight of the programmes we provide,” said Hutchings.
“The kids get such a boost from meeting their sporting heroes. We love working alongside Wellington-s top teams to create those connections, and seeing the buzz it gives everyone involved.”
