Wellington Phoenix ACADEMY | Physiotherapy Intern

Reports to: Head Academy Physiotherapist/Assistant Physiotherapist
Location: Fraser Park, Lower Hutt

Key Responsibilities

– Assist with game day injury management, including acute assessment and strapping
– Provide pitch-side support during matches
– Assist with game day athlete monitoring and recovery protocols
– Contribute to maintaining a professional medical environment

What We’re Looking For:

Essential

– Current physiotherapy student or NZ-registered physiotherapist
– Valid First Aid Certificate
– Understanding of football demands and pitch-side care

Personal Attributes

– Strong interest in football and sports performance
– Professional presentation and communication skills
– Highly organised and proactive
– Driven, dependable, and eager to learn

Wellington Phoenix ACADEMY | GOALKEEPING COACH INTERN

Department: Goalkeeping | Reports to: Head of Academy Goalkeeping | Location: Fraser Park, Lower Hutt

Tasks Involved
– Plan & deliver goalkeeping sessions to boys & girls aged between U14’s and U16’s
– Plan & deliver match day goalkeeping warmups to boys & girls aged between U14’s and U16’s
– Shadow other coaches to learn from them
– Become familiar with the Wellington Phoenix goalkeeping curriculum
– Provide feedback to players and coaches

Skills Required
– General understanding of goalkeeping techniques
– Competent on field ability to serve at goalkeepers
– Time management
– Adaptability

What the successful candidate will gain:

Wellington Phoenix | Analyst Intern

Department: Analysis
Reports to: Head Analyst/Assistant Analyst
Location: NZCIS, Upper Hutt

Tasks Involved
•⁠ ⁠Filming, coding and uploading trainings
•⁠ ⁠Code 1-2 A-League games weekly
•⁠ ⁠Provide 1-2 A-League Tactical Reports weekly
•⁠ ⁠Providing analytical insight
•⁠ ⁠Support on-site with various analysis tasks

Soft Skills Required
•⁠ ⁠Understanding of football tactics and A-League teams
•⁠ ⁠Comfortable with using Mac software
•⁠ ⁠Competency in using google sheets/excel/keynote
•⁠ ⁠Time management

Characteristics
•⁠ ⁠Knowledge and interest in football
•⁠ ⁠Well organised, respectful, good self-presentation and professionalism
•⁠ ⁠Good communicator
•⁠ ⁠Proactive, driven, diligent

What an analyst intern will gain
•⁠ ⁠Experience with one of New Zealand’s only professional football clubs
•⁠ ⁠Experience using Hudl Sportscode/Studio for trainings, games, and other analysis-related tasks
•⁠ ⁠Access to football analysis tools and programmes
•⁠ ⁠Exposure to A-League analysis set-up
•⁠ ⁠Insight into football analysis at A-League level.
